Hi, we recently changed to a different pony club branch as the new one is nearer to us but my daughter is really unhappy, no fault of the branch just different to the last. Is it that easy to change back? And is it up to the DC of both branches?
Thanks

Changing branches is never easy, so you need to have a really good reason.

Can I ask why you changed in the first place? Have you given it enough time?

Yes it is up to the DC of both branches, but if you left the first branch on good terms, then they should be happy to have you back. It is slightly easier if both branches are in the same Area, as it then only involves one Area rep.

PM me if you prefer.

Hi thanks for your reply, sorry couldn't get back online! Both branches are in the same area but we left the old branch as the new one is nearer but completely different to the old one! The old one was a lot friendlier and laid back the new one is really competitive and the parents and children are quite snooty and couldn't give you the time of day! The instructors are very harsh and my daughter was in tears at last rally and hasn't gone back for months. Wondering whether to bother at all with it!

For the price you have to pay I would say try move her back - Your daughter doesn't need that in her life especially if she's lacking confidence or anything like that. Pony club mothers need to get their head out there own bums and i like to tell them that if they really annoy me.

It is quite hard to move back but still possible if both DCs and the Area Rep agree. She might be barred from competition for a year but that sounds like a relatively small price to pay. Try speaking to your old DC first and see what sort of reaction you get.

I think you'd have a reasonable case: you moved to a new branch because you couldn't cope with the distance travelled, only have realised that personality wise the old one fits your daughter better. You're not doing it for teams or anything like that, which is the biggest reason they get funny about swaps. Just contact your old DC, explain, then the new one and explain, and then they tend to take it from there.
