Pony doesnt like being ridden bareback?

My NF doesn't like being ridden bareback either. She bucks me off (she never bucks otherwise when ridden) and goes all tense, so I just respect her and don't ride her bareback.

Hi, I know this was ages ago but saw it had been brought back up so..
1) pony is/was not in any pain
2) I now ride/ school him bareback with no problems

He lets me school/hack/jump bareback now, I think he just might have been a bit snotty as he hadn't done it in a while. Pretty sure he prefers it now, and he listens to me 10x more, no ears back, happy face. (I only ride him bareback like 1/2 Times a week before people go mad)

Good to hear he's OK with it now! :)

When my NF got too fat for her saddle (she moved to full livery and my baby arrived early so she gained a lot of weight) I used an elastic surcingle to strap my Heather Moffet seat saver to her for bareback riding, cushioned her back from my seat bones and gave me some grip, I found it much more comfy than the real bareback pad I used to own.
