Ok so b joined my herd at 2 years old having not seen another horse since she was weaned. L looked after her despite not really liking horses and protected her when she would just stand in the corner and get battered.
Today the new horse at the yard went out with my lot and s did his best to keep him away from the girls. I let them settle then added lottie.
New pony showed some interest and next thing I know I heard a stallion raw and b flew across the field flat out screaming and roaring despite being a girl. She got lottie somewhere safe and kept an eye while s herded him off.
Finally my wimpy pony has grown up and learnt to stand up for herself. Just in time to stick up for lottie and take her place as lead mare in my herd. I am so proud. Pointless happy post. Coffee and piece of my oh birthday cake if u got this far.
