Pony going to new home today!

I don't know that he will be tricky just in case really.
He came to us in a box 4 months ago, and we don't ave our own transport so have professional people picking him up with the new owner.
But I want to make him as comfortable as possible just wondering if anyone had ideas. I'm going to give him bucket of food, hay and water xx

you would do better to cut back the hay and food so he is a little hungry and then have some hay on the lorry..and possibly use a little food to entice him on board. Not suggesting you travel him WITH hard feed!

Is your new forest called Elliot by any chance? As we had a new livery arrive at our yard today with a a 5yr old bay gelding came in a big blue lorry & he came from Oxford, she had just bought him?

I didn't stay long as was just leaving, but from what I saw he unloaded very quietly & happily walked round to his stable. It is a very small world isn't it :)

Old boy alledgedly was a bad loader so I hired a professional and was so worried he wasnt going to arrive to me well he went in fine and turned up in the poshest horse box I have ever seen! Cost me a fortune but the guy was fantastic, as they do it for a living easy peasy. The owners said they physically pushed him up the ramp.

But he hated being loaded and it was just lack of practice...nothing a bucket of pony nuts couldnt sort out. Glad it went well though.
