About 2 weeks ago or so I gave madam a blanket clip. She usually has a trace clip or little neck and chest bib clip all year round but it wasn't cutting it and she was dripping doing any sort of work in the heat. Her coat is already coming back through quite quickly so she's not bald or bare skinned.
However she is a skewbald and pink skinned under her white bits. I noticed yesterday she was very scurfy (she is always a bit scurfy even at the best of times) and today she has full scabs (no sores thankfully!) all over her shoulders, I'm assuming sun burn?
She lives out but there is plenty of shade should she choose to go in it!
I'm hesitant to buy a fly rug for her to wear as I suspect she will just cook in it with the temperatures we've been forecast? Is there anything I can do, any creams that she won't fry in?
