Hi, one of our pony is not on grass turnout and we moved yards on saturday - both ponies are stabled close but not next door although can see each other - at old yard both ponies ate all hay - at new yard both ponies left hay overnight resulting in pony on no turnout very tucked and started shaking when eating breakfast, still won't eat hay so given him lots of small meals top chop lite etc - could my hay be less tasty ???????????? pony doesnt normally stress over anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not yet allowed turnout as grass too rich at previous place !!! any advice?????please !!! thanks !!

May be moving yards or different hay that has upset him. If he doesnt improve in a couple of days maybe you should contact your vet. Hopefully in a couple of days they will settle into their new home and be right as rain.

Hi, i hope so - unfortunately he was border line lammi / insulin resitance so is super skinny and doesnt have weight to loose.

Could well be that the hay was less tasty - my friend and I took our horses on holiday and neither would touch the hay that was provided there once we ran out of our own and both of them gobble up hay from our yard.

Ours are used to meadow hay and the hay provided was very stalky and did not have lots of different grasses in and not very green. Luckily they were turned out whilst we were away so it was not such of an issue but if the pony is eating non hay feeds then I would say new hay is not so nice!

Hi, that is my thoughts - so better for him but as normally greedy didnt expect hunger strike and the shakes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My pony who will normally eat a slice of hay in 20 minutes and is very greedy for the hay we have at current yard but if he does not like the hay he will leave it like he did on holiday and also at the yard I was on before they got a batch in that was not very nice and he refused to eat that too.
