Hi All

Did dressage today...came 5th....me and Stanley's first rosette..so happy!
Comments were mostly that he was overbending and a little on the forehand which I could feel myself but not sure of the best way to correct. Am defo gonna book some lessons in to help with this but any tips I can try out would be much appreciated.

Transitions, transitions, transitions!! They will help him get off his forehand and bring his hocks underneath him. Your going to have to be careful with your hands to ensure you are giving him enough room to stretch his frame rather than tuck his nose behind. A few lessons with a good instructor should set you on the right path. Well done on your placing!!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. So when I move him on with my legs I feel like he just wants to pick up the trot faster and faster. He is quite forward going and sensitive to the leg. Am trying to slow him down with my seat by rising slower before trying to collect the front end. He still feels quite on the forehand though and heavy in my hands although trying to use my hands less..... phew! If I keep pushing him forward will I eventually get rid of this feeling that he just wants to lean on my hands?

Trying to get a lesson booked for next week, takes a bit of organising as I need to box him off the yard and I have no transport:(

thanks
