On saturday night the Yard Manager made the decision to have one of the yard residents PTS.

Beauty, a cheeky little welsh pony owned by the yard owners, has lived at the yard for 24 years and reached the grand old age of 40 years.

The yard was subdued yesterday and today but we all know it was the best thing for her and she has had such a full happy life and and can now be at peace.

whilst sad what an amzing age to live to and sounds like little pony was loved - love and hugs to all who were connected and what a good YO to make that decision - RIP Beauty galloping amongst the stars with an angel on your back xxxxx
 
Shed a tear or two reading Beauty's obituary on the site. If only all horses and ponies could be so loved and well cared for at the end of their days.
 
We had a pony put to sleep this year at 52 who had been at the yard since she was 4. She was beautiful, first pony all of us had ridden. After the harsh winter, the first cosy day, she lay down and told us she was finished and we knew that was her time to go. Sad day:(

That's the most moving description of the end of a horse's life I've ever read. And FIFTY TWO?! Wow.

We have a running joke at the yard that 'theres something in the water'. Most of our horses live to incredible ages and most of them tell us when its their time to go. However it does make it even harder for us to say goodbye:(
