I'm looking for some pony rugs for my section A. She has never been rugged but as she's getting on a bit I want something available on cold/wet days. The only rugs I can find a have necks on or cost the same amount she did!!! Her old owner started rugging her but stopped as she destroyed them all so I don't want to spend loads on a rug that's going to be eaten.
Plus - is it me or are 4'9" rubs like gold dust? I can hardly find any!!!

Anyway - can anyone recommend a cheapish standard neck lightweright TO and stable rug? As I can't find them in store I was going to buy online but I'm not keen on buying rugs without seeing them first if that makes sense, esp as the stable rug needs to be very lightweight (pref not fleece tho)

Try Robinsons. They're cheap and cheerful enough you'll not to be absolutely horrified if she does wreck it but at the same time, some of their own rugs are as tough as boots too so you might just win for once!

ours have got weatherbettas this year, mainly in 4'6 4'9 the fit fantastic and have been great in all the rain they live out and ave yet have to change a rug because of it being wet. there not expensive either.

there are looks of makes that have small rugs but not many people stock them, ask you local tack shop sure they will order one in for you. watch out for ebay alot of rugs are cost more then tack shop and them have P&P on top

I have found Shires fit my Welsh A rather nicely. Avoid Masta as although they are fab rugs, the necks are way too big for Welsh A's - I've tried them on several ponies!
