Hi, just wondered if anyone can help. We moved to a new yard 4 weeks ago, our boys had just been together beforehand, new yard has quite a few horses and our ponies are out in a herd situation now. A week after arriving there my boy had a nasty episode of choke and had to be tubed. Since then he has been very lethargic and has lost a lot of weight, he was over weight beforehand but this weight loss has happened quickly. Vet took bloods a week ago and results were normal. A couple of other liveries have had a bit of green mucus discharge but no coughing. Do you think my boy is just adjusting to all the change or could it be something else? He still has a good appetite and summer coat is coming through nicely. Any suggestions anyone please?

The bloods should have shown up any virus that may have been present. It could well be the stress of moving home, my horse took 6 weeks to settle when she moved. I would keep any eye on him and if your atall worried, ring the Vet.

Hi, I'm hoping it is just the stress of moving, I'm not going to do anything with him for a few weeks and see if he picks up.
