Some days my pony sweats after a workout (which is normal) but lately shes started to sweat just above her thigh . Its kind of like a patch of her coat gets dark and sweaty and hot. I don't think this is normal and id like to know if this happens to anyone elses ponies or if they know why its happening .

Unexplained sweating can be a sign of cushings. However it's been very sticky weather here do maybe just weather related?

Its only been in the last month that I've seen it happening. The weather has been very sticky though .
Would cushings be a serious problem or easy to deal with?

Cushings presents in many ways... I've known ponies live a long normal life withthe condition. However, it was the first thing that popped into my head because I lost my daughter's pony to it as it induced laminitis.
As I say it was just the first thing I thought of but im no expert and I guess it could be any number of things.
My TB sweats easily in hot weather and tends to get a little patch on her shoulder....
Does he have any pain, sweating can indicate pain? .... again just brainstorming! :)

Im sorry to hear about your daughters pony :(
when we brought her the saddle pinched her withers but we sorted that problem ..that would be the only pain that she was in but luckily that was extremely brief. I will have to keep an eye on her for the next couple of days and see if it still happens and if it does I will mention it too my vet and see what he thinks. I hope though that it isn't anything serious !

Barry was sweating a fair bit in his stable when it was really hot because it was stuffy in there. I was covered in sweat every time I brushed him!

Does it happen when she's out in the field or in the stable? Or both?

It is very muggy weather atm.

It happens half way through working her and after. she always has a dark patch above her thigh and it only gets hot, sweaty when working and after
