Pony with an attitude

Well at the RS I work at (and where pickle is kept on working livery) there is a little pony, she is tiny but has a huge attitude. Now she is very good when she is out hacking happy to go, but as soon as she even spies that she is going in the school she just wont move. I want to try and do something with her (I am allowed to) any ideas?

(This weekend I took her in the school and just let her walk round as she wanted to, after a while she just followed me around and would happily trot running with me)
 
Take a whip and give her a good smack if she wont move, if its just attitude.
It sounds like she is jsut trying it on!

has she had a genuinely bad experience in the school or has she just associated it with doing boring work in circles? If the latter, then I huge smack and then perhaps do some "fun" things in there- whatever she enjoys? some loose jumping maybe?
 
How long has she been at the RS?
How often is she hacked out compared to schooling?
Is she usually ridden by beginners in the school?

She may well be being naughty, but there's also the possibility that she is sick to death of constantly plodding around the school having her mouth pulled and people bouncing up and down on her back.
 
Well she is only 11hh so I cant ride her, I can only do groundwork with her. She has been in the RS 6 months but is privately owned, she has always been like this.

Not usually ridden by beginners as she is too much for them, she is hacked more than she is schoolled. She is only ridden by more capable children.

Think I will stick to the loose schooling see how she goes
 
the lose schooling sounds like a great place to start
she's enjoying it and she's engaging with you already

it will be really interesting to see how it goes

I do a lot of pony rides (me leading small kids around a field) with her so have grown to almost like her, even when she does have a bit of a hissy fit, or attempt to bite me!
