I've suffered from tennis elbow on and off for a period of over 20 years. My GP advised cortisone injections, which I refused, or wearing a splint which worked to a certain extent. I eventually had physio including acupuncture. The important thing the physio explained is that, in my case, it is caused by tension in my shoulder and neck. I sit at a computer for 8 hours a day so I now make sure I have a good ergonomic desk set-up. I also have regular neck and back sports massages. Now I know what's causing it I've been able to prevent it re-occurring.

A proper tennis elbow brace should help, essentially to continue with what is a repetitive strain issue, continuing to repeat you need to rest the issue spot which is the tendons. A proper tennis elbow brace changes where the muscles pull on and gives some relief to the affected area.

Also changing implements helps, I put tennis grip on my rake but have since switched to a stanley childrens rake as my horses poos are scattered.

Very helpful thread as this could be me writing this! Mine isn't too bad at the moment but poo picking definitely makes it worse. Also my arm stiffens up overnight.

A third recommendation for acupuncture.

I've had it for a rsi in my wrist ( caused by revision for school /uni exams - I wrote my notes out A LOT!)
And for yard sweeping elbow - worked brilliantly everytime
I had a steroid injection into my wrist - if I could have reached to punch the doctor, I would have - the most pain I've ever had in my life - there really isn't room for more fluid in that joint!

I get a pain in my elbow area and the accompanying muscles down towards the forearm, which is made worse by poo picking with a traditional poo skip and small rake. I am assuming it is a tennis elbow type thing. I have had it for years, on and off, but recently has a got a lot worse to the extent it is affecting other aspects of life, causing me to drop things and making it hard to open jars etc.

Atm our GP are not seeing non urgent cases so no hope of any help there.....

I have tried votarol, tubigrips etc which help to a small extent but find the pain only really improves if I don't poo pick at all - but that is not an option, especially whilst they are out 24/7.

Are there any other options? Or different equipment that is easier to use/doesn't aggravate tennis elbow?

Thanks
I had this was told not two lean on it and use other hand. Yo u could try Biofreeze https://www.boots.com/brands/biofreeze
