My daughter is pregnant and has spd, been told no lifting/carrying or pushing! Due to our work we share chores. Two horses, out 24/7 on approx half an acre. I am looking to get a 14 year old to poo pick twice a week (I will do other days so only 24 hours worth of poo...about a small wheelbarrow). Girl goes to yard every day as has her pony there, and should take her no more than 15-20 mins to poo pick our bit.

How much would people say is a fair amount to pay her? I don't want to pay loads of money for less than an hour a week, but don't want to be stingy either?

For 30-40 mins a week work I would say about £5 a week is fair.

I would also get her to pick feet etc and give £5 a time.

Or this - on the days the girl is going to poo pick for you could it save you or your daughter having to go up if you also got her to check rugs, waters, feet etc at the same time?

Ive ben wondering this too. We are at a wholy diy yard but what with folk going on hols and my partner away for work so i cant go up if i cant get childcare ita going to be 3-4 days between poo picking and with 5 animals its going to build Up. But to pay someone it would be an extra £100 a month on top of livery for just 2 houra a day at min wage.
Or i can pay £15 a time.to have aomeone watch my toddler. Id take him up but cant have him in a field with mains electeic fencing and horses When he has no fear and wont sit in a buggy or a back carrier :-(

I pay a freelance woman to come to my yard, poopick and pick out my horses feet. She's fab, she tidied up the hay and asks if I want this or that done. It's worth paying this to know my girls are taken care of.
She charges £6 per half hour (if she wasn't in my area it would be £12 due to fuel costs etc).

Last year I paid a 14 yr old girl £7 a week to poo pick my two. She was doing it anyway so I wanted to give her something for time.

depends on the time it all takes minimum wage is £6.50 an hour you cant go below this rate.

I think that minimum wage is for over 21's but it's actually a moot point now as said teenager doesn't want to do it. She has said she doesn't have time but I think it's more the fact that she wants to ride daughters horse but due to certain 'issues' daughter has said no. This is her choice and she certainly doesn't have to do the poo picking, just thought she'd like a bit of pocket money. Worst case scenario is that the poo doesn't get picked up on the two days my daughter sees to the horses, although my OH has volunteered to do it.......albeit in exchange for a bottle of wine lol!

I have a lovely, reliable lady. She goes up either morning or evening depending on my shifts. Feeds, hays, changes any rugs that need it and then poo picks. She does an hour a day and charges me £10. I'd be lost without her!
