Poo-picking in the dark - great head-torch

Not having the luxury (!) of being able to poo pick in daylight at this time of year, I am relying on a good head torch to make this thankless task a little easier. Having tried a few different types in the past I came across this fella, and its fantastic. I poo-pick two and a half acres every evening and its actually easier doing it in the dark with this head torch than in the twilight as the contrast is better with the headlight to pick the little blighters out! One charge lasts about a week with around 30 minutes of use every day. I just thought it may be useful if anybody is looking for a really good rechargeable head torch, have a search on eBay for LED Headlight Torch 8000Lm 3x Cree XML T6 Headlamp Head Light Lamp 18650 Battery (I should add I have no allegiance to the sellers, its just a great item).

Ohhh, I'm wanting a decent head torch. Firstly to check my old boys in the dark as they are in a field well off the nearest road and its pitch black down there! The ability to do extra's like poo pick whilst not wasting daylight would be a huge bonus.

I too have struggled to find a half-decent head-torch; bought one a while back and it lasted five minutes

I've not had any problems using mine in the rain, but OH's got a bit damp and temperamental where water got in through the switch. He just puts his hood over it now, but something like a small piece of waterproof tape should sort it.

I have one of these however have to recharge it several times a week. Sadly don't get anywhere near the usage op has from a single charge. But it does give you superb light.

This one looks better (and cheaper) than the one i brought off fleabay where the battery pack isnt very secure so the batteries move about and the light turns off intermittently which is increadily frustrating when you are working in the pitch dark and need that light and all of a sudden its gone off and no amount of wiggling the back of your head turns it back on again! But when it works the light is brilliant.

My hubby has this head torch but the sod won't share it so left with his castoff it's brilliant for checking the fencing in the dark when we go up at 5:30am & after work at night. Roll on the night drawing out!!!

I have this head torch, it was my 3rd one but I actually prefer the other two that i have! the same make but only one lamp, they are much brighter than the one with the 3 lamps! I have all 3 still, so constantly have one on charge at the moment!
