Just curious really as to who does this on DIY yards

If i had one on DIY i would do it not the owner. If horse was on full livery yard owner would do it.

Part of the rules, each DIY poo picks their fields during the winter, during the summer we have big fields that are left and the muck harrowed back in and left to be rained back into the ground and then fertalised in the spring. Yard has a very good worming programme, only reason for it during the winter is that the horses are in smaller fields.

we have our own paddock for our horses and so its down to me to look after my grass so yes, I poo pick daily. Sometimes leave it a day if its peeing down or i've got somewhere to go.

I rent my own little yard, and am under no obligation to muck out the fields. However, I do (not always 100% meticulously mind

) but to keep it healthy

We (the DIY-ers) do it in the summer. YO does it on a machine in the winter.

Yep I do it, although the YO said when I joined the yard that they would happily chain harrow the paddocks for me (and indeed they do) - I just want my horse to graze down the grass a bit more evenly and hoped it might encourage him to do so

Only takes 5 mins since I do it daily

We take it turns, as there is only me and him! We don't have a rota or anything, I just do it if its not been done and vice-versa. I try to do it each morning before I go to work though.

im a part livery and i still have to poo pick, strim and weed. field maintenance is the horse owners responsibility at our yard.

There is no option for 'not poo picking' - we don't do it, we harrow the fields, swapping the horses over to different paddocks when needed.

The horses are womed counted & wormed when needed - never any problems. Poo picking is over rated!

I'm on DIY on the summer so do it myself, in winter both are on full livery so YO does it for me she attatched a big trailer to her 4X4 and does it that way saves lugging wheelbarrows back and forth.
