Has anyone else’s poo picking gone out the window over the last week with this weather? By the time I’ve mucked out I’m just not finding myself going out in the dark with my head torch to face the elements and it’s making me feel so guilty coz I’m normally so on it! This weather has really caught me off guard! Anyone else?

Me, although In my case it’s because it’s either disappeared into the mud or under inches of water! ‘Luckily’ for me they’ve been mostly on the hard standing or using the stables as toilets so that’s easier to clean up.

Mine have been like that at night but they are in there fields (swaps) in the day. And like you say they are just dissolved mushy patches. Quite tricky to get when it’s on top of mud anyway!
 
I'm tempted to pay someone to come and catch up with mine for me.

I had bronchitis over xmas/new year so wasn't doing more than hay feed and water for a couple of weeks. So catching up from that seemed never ending (out 24/7) now the weekend I've not done any as the weather was horrid and i feel like I'm back to square one again.
 
I made the decision to abandon mucking out the top bit of my field
It will be rested over the summer anyway so with a jolly good harrowing first it will be fine

Thats what I do when I get too behind, it really helps me to have the company while I poo pick, the time flies by and it gets it done much quicker
 
yes me....! like others have said, a lot has part dissolved into the mud and the ones i can see, i cant get to with the wheel barrow, or if i can, i cant then push the barrow when it's full of poo.... i'll harrow in the spring and the field will be rested until nearly Christmas. horses are tough at this time of year, don't beat yourself up about it - they'll cope with a bit of poo...
 
I do mine weekly at the mo, as my horses only go out in the mornings there is not a lot to pick up. so just have to psyche myself to go and paddle through the mud once!
