So we went to an enclosed field today with a new dog. Things were going fine they’d run todetber and were playing nicely then Meg my Lurcher lost her mind when the Labrador got to close to her in the sand pit.
Came off worse of course despite it only being one small bite round on her cheek.
Vet decided it should be cleaned under sedation and fixed up. She was there three hours. How much do you reckon? Hampshire. Not that area should make a difference.

Crikey, the last time any of mine got a nip (long, long time ago) I just swooshed it out with some hydrogen peroxide :D. Last sticheroo (altercation with a mule, 5 stitches) was €45.

Sorry to hear that. My lurchers have always been very weary of labradors. They seem to find their bulk intimidating and seem worried about being hurt. None of them would have 'played' with a lab. One of mine was dog neutral with all dogs except labs. He disliked them strongly all his life after being bowled over by one as a pup. Can you find another lurcher or lurcher type as a playmate?
