Hi,

I have just purchased a skewbald mare who has a bit of a white bum. I have taken her out a few times in the lorry and she tends to get quite messy. I am slightly dreading competing as I don't really want the task of unloading her and washing her bum every outing. Does anyone know if I can buy or do something to try and prevent this? I am aware you can get bum guard type things but I wasn't sure of these helped or just made it worse. Thanks in advance!
Apologies, did not mean to select picture prefix!

This drives me mad.
My boy poos on the breech bar and gets it all over him every time. I have to get to shows early to wash him every show.
I think I might try a quarter guard and a tail bandage thing and hope it helps!

Relieved there aren't pics lol.

The more she travels the less she might do it. Also loading twenty mins before leaving and leaving the ramp down would let you whip it out before you leave so less to come out on the way.

We have a light grey and she is exactly the same when travelling, even eight years down the line so sorry I don't think it will improve with time. it's the first thing she does in the trailer on loading and continues through out the journey. It's just one of those things, we put up with it as she travels so well and always have soap and water for cleaning her up on arrival.
