I have feared for a while now that he will be our first to not find that forever home, because he is an old boy now.

I sat and cried yesterday after being told that he is going downhill quickly

Please, I am begging, if you have an adult only pet free home that can foster him for whatever time he has left - please apply.

He has muscle wastage and a spinal condition and he is in extreme pain.

We are trying to get him to take his pain medication but he’s refusing

If we can get him to take these we are going to try hydrotherapy, BUT HE NEEDS a foster. “

Hes been at the rescue 4 years , given the rescue probably from overseas . Guarding issues with food and space , needs a dog and child free home . They’ll be queuing up .

They haven't found a home for him in 4 years, yet haven't managed to build up the trust with the staff for them to be able to give him his pain medication when he doesn't want to, but somehow if he just gets a foster home, then what, with a magical *poof* he'll stop refusing to take his pain medication...

Despicable! ETA If it at least had been to help pay for his euthanasia, but his other vet care, why put him through all this when they're not able to find a home to him?

Extreme pain? Absolutely sickening.

It happens too often. One of the husky rescues recently imported a dog with severely deformed front legs, the dog was in the UK for a month before becoming gravely ill (potentially caused by tick-borne disease), now PTS with a 7k+ vet bill they're asking for donations towards. It was a horrible and sad story of how the legs came to be injured but what followed should never have been allowed to happen.

Yeah but when you intimate that keeping dogs with serious injury or illness alive with drugs and invasive surgery/on wheels/prosthetics is inhumane and mostly to make feel humans better, along comes someone to call you a barbarian.
