OMG!!! Pass on our get well wishes for a speedy recovery! But thats no excuse to get out of the party at the weekend!!! We could all sign his cast!!! xx
 
Thank you everyone for your support - Mat (and I) really appreciate it.

He had his operation from 1.30 to 4.30 today, and it all seems to have gone OK. I waited in the hospital all day so I could be there when he came around - he was very groggy to begin with, but after an hours snooze, he was very bright and chatty. He's in much less pain now, and is feeling much more positive. He's also got morphine on tap, which seems to be helping

. The Dr. said he's not allowed to ride for 8 weeks, but of course he's already planning to get back on Merlin asap - don't worry, I will make him see sense.

I am going back to see him tomorrow morning, and hopefully he will have got some sleep - unfortunately the guy next to him is very old and a little senile - he seems to think his wife is hiding in the cupboard, spends the whole night rambling, and exposes himself at random whilst pulling out his IV lines and spraying the saline/morphine all over the place... poor Mat!

I'm hoping Mat will be back home tomorrow, although it's more likely to be Friday or Saturday night - depends on how much movement he regains in the next 24 hours. Thanks to those who are sending cards etc. he will really appreciate it, and was thrilled when I told him how many people had wished him well on HHO: Thank you! Oh, and Weezy - he's decided that he's still coming to your party!!!!!
