I've just taken my Border Terrier to the RVC, we got a referal this morning and had to go straight there. She seems to have slipped a disk in her lumbar vertebrae but she's gone from painful and slightly wobbly to very reduced feeling and paralysis in her hind legs.
The vet seemed to think she has a reasonable chance of recovery if they can get the pressure off her spinal chord and she's going for a myogram this afternoon to see if it is a disc, inflammation or tumor. She might be operated on this afternoon.
Poor thing has gone from fine to unable to stand in 2 days. She tried to pee last night but couldn't stand the way she needed to without yelping and giving up.
Has anyone had experience of anything similar?
