Biscuit has hurt his leg :( We were playing fetch last night on the fields and Biscuit was in full pursuit of the ball and started screaming and tuched his hind leg right up under him.

Managed to catch him but ended up carrying him as he couldn't walk and was hopping.

Got home and told Mum (still live at home) and at this point he decided to run around like a loon, get up this morning and he jumps off the foot stool and starts screaming again. Had to practically drag him out for a walk which is very unlike him and we got half way down the street before the hopping started again.

Any ideas ? The pain doesn't seem constant and if it isn't any better by 12 we are going to the vets

It sounds as if he may possibly have damaged his cruciate, or as suggested knocked his toe back. I would keep him pretty restricted e.g. lead exercise in garden and no jumping and if no improvement get him checked by your vet.

'Moved his pelvis' ...rubbish!
Get him down to the vet and don't walk the poor fellow when he is obviously sore.

Believe what you want but I have seen similar symptoms in my dog, horse (who the vet said just needed more work but was intermittently lame and collapsed if you mounted) and have had them myself.

I do agree the vet is always a good port of call but if they can't find a reasonable solution for the lameness a good chiropractor is always my first port of call.

Took him to the vets as he was still limping and apparently it is just a bad sprain. So after X-rays and manipulation to find out it is a sprain, he had a support bandage on for walking and apparently he should be fine in a few days.
