poor gsds kept in disgusting conditions

Well I have seen dogs in worse conditions, but agree they are not good. The dogs look very friendly bless them, hopefully the RSPCA will act for both them and the horses. Interestingly it would seem the dog trainer and reporter were trespassing, bearing in mind the fuss in NL a few weeks ago when an RSPCA inspector entered someones field I hope this doesn't damage any case the RSPCA may have.

Not ideal, but like MM, from the video alone, it's not the worst I've ever seen, they seem a good weight and they are very friendly, compared to the noise mine would make if two men walked into their space.

Quite honestly if that is the "worst conditions" the guy has ever seen..where has he been? Dogs are in good bodyweight, runs are adequate.OK ,I`d like to see a raised bench bed at the back of those kennels and obvious ample fresh water . Believe me ,don`t waste the RSPCA`s resources ,save it for where they can really make a difference!

those are seriously far from terrible conditions just by watching the video! Good grief...a dog...near mud...awful  My word some microwave dishes, well clearly thats all the dogs are fed on then, no chance that they could have been given those dishes to lick out as a treat then?! I notice the absence of any faeces in those runs too...and no way the water bowls could be indoors?! Rubbish piece of reporting!

Well we have muddy fields at the moment and haylage bales out exactly the same way as that yard, does that mean I might get a visit from the RSPCA. Perhaps the field is a winter holding field so the summer grazing is not destroyed!!!!

I see no problem with those dogs, they are friendly, in good body condition and yes perhaps they need a brush, but at this time of the year, a dog living outside can do with the warmth of a full coat. The interior of the kennels looked a bit shabby agreed, but they were clean, I didn't see any mess in there.

There are many many dogs kept in far worse conditions in the UK. Sometimes the bunny huggers take things way to far.

Dare I say it, I have also seen a rat at our yard OHHHH SHOCK HORROR, they do come in from the fields at this time of the year, there is no way of stopping them. I tried the signs saying 'NO RATS - PRIVATE PROPERTY" but they just ignore them.

The rat comment in the report made me smile, free entertainment for the dogs eh! Apart from the lepto risk mine would love it if they had rats to chase. One point is that if this "breeder" is in any way licensed I am pretty sure the dogs have to have someone living on the premises, which doesn't seem likely unless there is a caravan somewhere.

I agree! And at least the horses had big bale of haylage, more than plenty have

Take a read of some of the background to this. You might question the morality of people stabbing each other in the back, swiping each other's animals and generally creating mayhem all in the name of rescue. Still, the animals seem to be doing OK on whatever treatment they are getting but goodness knows where the rest of them are.

Conditions were probably scruffy rather than bad. The dogs looked okay if a little starved of attention.

However, I wouldn't want my horses standing in that mud all day, large bale of haylage or not!

Good grief! A real can of worms!

I will have to read it all when I am less tired I think!

Ah, I've heard a few of those names before.

As per frigging usual, human egos getting in the way.

HELLO! IT'S ABOUT THOSE GUYS WITH THE POINTY EARS AND FOUR LEGS!!!

Not coming back to this thread, this kinda crap makes me ill.

Ur? No ,if you want to see underweight then view stuff from the Houston SPCA..THAT`S underweight, these ponies were just mid winter normal not in work ponies.

Depends on how high your standards are and how well you like to
keep to animals. It wouldnt be good enough for me...

Quite probably..but definitely no need to WASTE the authorities time ,indeed my own horses are fatter..but their haylage reel also stands in mud created by the feeding station.Next year we will have hard standing for it,but no harm done to them as it is.

Some of the horses looked very under weight though. I hope the authorties do something quickly

As others have said it depends on what you consider as 'under weight'. The number of obese horses in the UK has gone up by 40% so I think at least 40% of owners idea of under weight, is way off the mark. It is far worse to have an obese horse than a horse that is on the lean side (and no I don't mean emaciated)
