Sort of following on from Mizelz' post about castration, I admit I've been putting off getting Herman done. So I bit the bullet just now and booked him in.
Having them off next Friday (18th). All they've really said is to starve him from midnight the night before and have him in for 9am - I asked if he was still alright to have his walk that morning and they said yes (we'll maybe avoid the river and woods...) but that was it.
I know they have to be kept quiet afterwards for a few days (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) but other than that, is it life as normal? Assume he still has the same tea as he'd normally have and not chicken (we gave the cat tuna after he got neutered and he won't touch the stuff now) or similar. Will he have to wear a collar? He is the sort who would pull stitches (or whatever they have) for the hell of it.
I know he needs to be done, I know it's better for him, I appreciate it (might) help with the recall etc so why am I being a bit meepy over it?! I'm off work that day as well so can't even take my mind off it that way!
