My poor horse who has slightly doggy feet anyway has gone really lame!!The farrier said his feet had grown alot this time (he is done every 7 weeks)and i think he must have tacken to much off,one friend said he could be lami, but he isnt leaning back on his feet he is on his toes!! you can see that he hasnt got any weight on his heels, you could at first see the pulse just above his fetlock but that has now gone(this all happend tuesday)iv given him bute but it makes no differance to him, this did happen last year and it took him 4 months to come right!! Im prying its not so bad this time around, can anyone tell me why he dosnt want to put any weight on his heels please.

Hard pad?!

Hiya,i spoke to vet, because they saw hin last year with the same problem they have said give him bute and see how he looks over the weekend,he is shod with pads and wide web shoes, the vets told me last year he could have soft tissue damage,as xrays etc were clear, its just the not putting weight on his heels that gets me!!!

We had exact same prob with a horse after being shod. He had lami caused by the farrier. Had to be on box rest, buted up. He just tipped toes everywhere. Vet confirmed lami.
