Poor horse *warning not a pleasant pic*

Maybe people should take a step back when they see something, to look at the bigger picture.
But where's the excitement in that ;) This is H&H where it makes a more exciting story to say a horse was beaten, whipped, tortured, ended up in the hands of the cruel meatman, belonged to those nasty gypsies! Quite frankly the imaginations some people have on here can be umm colourful to say the least. Who knows what the real story is but the photo shows a normal decomposing state of a euthanised horse's body.

I am so sorry you found my comments so offensive- get a life.I'm not bothered what you think about my conclusions, last time I checked this was an open forum.

 What a rude post. Clearly you're not at all sorry.

How does objecting to prejudiced assumptions mean a person doesn't have a life? Quite the opposite I would think, it would seem to me to show an open-minded intelligent person.

Hear! Hear! You're right, it is an open forum and everyone is entitled to say exactly what they want. No-one should feel discouraged in saying what they think. By doing so it provides most of us with the only means available to us to figure out which posters are stupid and which ones are intelligent :)

Whatever the truth behind it, what a shame for a nice looking animal, and judging by its teeth, it wasn't any age.

you are bothered or you wouldn't have felt the need to make a statement in response to my post. I honestly don't give a 'tinkers curse' if you are bothered or not. :)

Brilliant reply Spring Feather!! Fallen stock are brought to a gateway to be collected by the knacker man, its common practice in farming and I would guess that is the situation with that horse.

Agree. People are so quick to jump to conclusions when they see a dead horse!!! "It MUST have been mistreated BECAUSE IT'S DEAD" and "Oh my god look at it's legs they are tied together so it must have had that done BEFORE it was dead". Why can't people look at the bigger picture?!!

My old pony looked exactly the same after he was pts years ago. He had his legs tied to drag him out of the stable, and he was bloated after a few hours. And yes he was left out in full view until the farmer came to bury him for us.

Echo Merry Crisis, Brilliant replies - wish I was as quick as you! I only think of the witty yet whithering put down 10 minutes after the opportunity has ended!! :D
I wonder if this horse is a hunt follower/supporters ride? In certain area's hunts still do a 'flesh run'.... There I go you see - making assumptions ;) :D

Our girl was pts in her stable and stayed there overnight until she could be moved by tractor and buried in the morning... Somewhat inelegantly and with ropes to her legs to pull and lift the carcass - with a few scratches to the body during the process...

As has no doubt already been said... The only thing that can be determined from the photo is that a (fairly clean) horse is dead, by a gate, and in the early stages of decomposition... Perhaps with an educated guess as to the ropes and what appears to be some extra swelling on the neck... Nothing more unless you want to consider the grass or puddles...

I think unless you work for csi you really can not tell how this horse died even if you think you can.
It is really sad if it has been dumped which it may have been whether it was dead or not do we not at least owe the animals we choose to serve us some dignity.
And before the usual comments start yes there are worse things that can happen but does not really make it acceptable.

We don't know it was dumped though. We can't tell anything from this photo.
