My boy has been diagnosed with a nasty oral cancer:( he is currently happy in himself but we know time is short and so so precious. Has anyone been through this with their dog? How long did yours stay happy in themselves post diagnosis?
Here's a pic of my boy - if it works as I'm not familiar with posting pics

Sorry to hear about Jasper, hes such a handsome boy! :( - glad he is still happy and waggy tailed and will stay that way for the rest of his time. Enjoy your christmas with him!

Thanks moppett I will - he is currently in the garden trying to get a pigeon to come down off the garage roof so he can chase it- keeps coming in and out to tell me it's there!

So sad I lost my beautiful boy yesterday. Such a hard decision, he outwardly looked fine still enjoying walks and playing ball and as nutty as ever, but tumours had grown rapidly and he wasn't eating enough so had to let him go. He went peacefully lying on my lap, but I really miss his beautiful face waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs this morning. Big hole in our family and in our hearts. Jasper -I hope you are playing ball now in doggy heaven miss you :( xxxxx

I'm so sorry for your loss, I remember the empty feeling that I've felt, when looking for a dog that is no longer there and it isn't easy, but it does get better. Also, although difficult for you, you did what was best for him.

It was so lovely reading about him coming in again and again to tell you about the pigeon on the garage.

R.I.P. Jasper.

Thank you everyone. I had a real wobble this morning saved the corner off my toast as usual and held it out for Jasper then realised he wasn't there :(
I know it gets easier but finding it really hard and 'seeing' him everywhere at the moment.
