what a shame. i have just text my friend as her collie gets in a state. my dobie, however, is lying here snoring her head off.
eta she got tabs from vet to try and relax him. don't make a big fuss of him tho' it just confirms it for him that there is something to be scared of.

Get him some ACP next year - then they just sleep through it all, with no distress to the dog

We dont seem to be having fireworks round us, so both dogs asleep snoring their heads off without any need for ACP

he seems to gettin abit more used to them now he is just lieing down at the side of me now, me though have got a banging head ach from the tele being so loud lol

one upside down on the sofa snoozing and one on the patio watching them. Our poor border collie who we lost last June was terrified of fireworks though and this time of year was horrible for him. I am glad the two I have now are just such chilled dogs.

oh flippin heck i dont believe it he has just been sick everywhere in my livin room.
Turned tele down cause was on phone and cause he cud hear them started to stress be sick oh god i wish they wud stop, i was very nearly sick clearing it up

And again i managed to catch that one with the boots catalogue, he must surely not have anything else to come up, please.
Poor little doggie

It is best to just leave the dog to their own devices in a safe place in the house.
One of mine has been under the bed all night. Curtains drawn, telly or radio on.The other is not bothered at all.
I hate B****y fireworks.

Our little Pup wasn't bothered in the slightest! The farm owners had a bonfire party, so we had fireworks going off at the bottom of the field.
He was left for a couple of hours in his crate with the radio turned right up, and he was fast asleep when we came back!

Google TTouch body wrap, it's something you can use to help calm your dog down without ending up drugging him & it's quick & easy to do (use an elastic or tail bandage). Works with my loony collie, when you put it on he settles & goes to sleep no matter how loud the bangs are.

ta guys 4 all ya comments, he has done nothing but sleep today think he must be shattered from being alert all night.
Fingers crossed for tonight, i hope they dont start setting them off again

Poor fella, that's a bad reaction. I suspect there will be a few nights of fireworks still to come, especially as last Saturday was such a wash out.

I can't figure my Yorkshire Terrier out at all. He gets completely loopy when fireworks are going off, but he doesn't seem particularly scared, just wildly excited. He yaps for England by the patio doors. He isn't afraid to go out, but will just run round the garden yapping. He must have a sore throat today!

My Springer really couldn't care less. However I had another Springer, now passed on to pastures new, who was terrified by fireworks, and once went missing during an evening of fireworks, ending up in someone's fish pond.

I can't imagine how awful it is for dogs in the run up to Guy Fawkes. We only have July 4th to contend with, and even then, it's only organised displays that you have to worry about.

Stella has seen fireworks and doesn't care a jot. Same with thunderstorms, which we have no qualms about walking in. Apparently, a bin bag flapping in the wind is far scarier
