My lovely little ex bat hen Clover doesn't look very well. She is kind of standing in the run with her tail up a bit and her eyes keep closing slowly then opening, then closing. She is eating and drinking ok and we believe she is laying eggs. She walks around with the others when we let them free range supervised, but she's always been very quiet. The others have combs that are red and upstanding and hers remains flaccid and pale pink (it used to go purple but doesn't anymore). Every now and then she has a sudden burst of energy and looks ok but then she goes all quiet again. I know she used to be bullied by the one in particular (third on the pecking list) - Clover is last, but I don't think she is bullied half as much now.
We have wormed them with flubevet and they have had red mite powder on them and in their bedding regularly. They are also on Stressless in their water. Anyone any ideas? Why do hens shut their eyes slowly?
