poor little yearling

Well Done Gala, a happy home for that poor little filly, I hope you have a wonderful time together...
Still i wonder who will end up buying the next poor mite they advertise :(

Please post some photo's of her progress, I bet she'll be pretty once she's at a good weight.

It's wonderful that she's found a good home. :)

Hi, thanks, and yep, will do. She's potentially very pretty, she's got a beautiful head. And lovely manners, loaded, travelled and leads better than some older horses I know.

I came along too!

Here's a quick pic of her arriving at Gala's:

So happy she is in a nice home now .. she does look even thinner than her original photograph. A friend rang with an offer for her but you had beaten her to it. She looks a sweet little thing, I will look forward to seeing her progress with you! Hope your hubby is won over by her!!! What's one more eh??? ;)

She is a lovely sort. She was very bright and perky and seems to have a lovely temperament. Going on a photo like we did, we weren't sure what we'd find when we got there - she could have been ill or injured or anything, but the intention was to get her and then see what she needed, but actually I think once she's put the weight on she'll be fine and a lovely little mare.

Well done for getting that youngster away from that horrible dealer
There has been many discussions about that place on another forum
and the poor ridden youngsters he/she are selling

Has she been clipped or has her hair fallen out? if she was clipped they certanly had unsteady hands!!

She has a lovely pretty face, you can see the potential in her, nice to see she has gone to a great home :)

Well done for getting her-she's very pretty faced.

The trouble is, I've heard of this bunch of people a lot-stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap, IMO. And if people are buying from them, then wont they just keep buying and selling on poor looking horses? I doubt they're doing this for the sake of the poor horses they buy from wherever.

Flamehead, thank you. Her face matches her nature, I've never met such a sweet little mare. I just looked the pics again and was wondering why her mane seems shorter now. I am such a dummy, it hasn't got shorter, it's just that her neck has got bigger...durrr me...

What a change - well done. do you know her breeding - just wondered if she was a standardbred as the website looks like its favoured by driving/trotting folk. Colour wise she is just like our standardbred mare.

She's apparently out of a Standardbred mare by a coloured stallion....I'm thinking the stallion might have been a Standardbred X, as she's very typey of the SB breed.

What a great way to end the year, I started the thread and have often wondered how she has got on. Those pics of her when she first arrived are terrible, poor little girl but my oh my she looks lovely now!! You have done a wonderful job getting her looking so well and happy. It must be so rewarding, looking forward to seeing more pics of her in the future.

JosieB, I have to thank you so much for starting the thread and bringing Rose into my life. ((Big hug)). Funny how things work out isn't it? I've had a horrid year on the whole, skin cancer, ops etc.,but Rose has brought so much joy into my life already. I don't know where you are in the country but I'd especially like you to meet her. I mean, y'know, if you'd like to? Let me know.
