Yesterday her wound opened up and started discharging again. The vet is talking about opening up the drain properly again to try and let the pus out. Poor little bibble. I'm sure she just wants to be left alone by now! I expect having the vet shove her finger back into her hock is low on her list of things to do.

Still, I suppose whilst there is still discharge there is hope the massive lump will go down. Sigh.

I hope she gets better soon too. I want to ride her! She is being very stoical about it all and hardly seems to notice which is good I guess. I'm pretty sure she'll notice when the vet comes and pokes a finger into her open wound mind! Think we might need some dope.

I tried to get some photos but they didn't come out very well.

I haven't bought it yet, waiting for pay day. Did you even upload yours yet?

Poor lass. She needs to have a wee word with her immune system and sort herself out!

Oh my word she really does. This is all because someone put something perfectly sterile and unreactive in her. How ridiculous. Stupid TB. Although I do think it may have gone down a bit in the last couple of weeks. I'm going to post photos

This is today

And this was two weeks ago when she first went out (rubbishy pic I know :( )

Am I imagining that it looks marginally less big?

dh, I'll let you off then :D I saw the pro ones of you and William and you look good though :D

Slinks, I don't really want it to close up as it is meant to be there to let out pus. Do I still add honey (should say that ordinarily I am completely against things that haven't been proven in proper clinical trials but I am desperate at the moment so will try anything, including witchcraft and honey)

I think it looks smaller too.

Hehe, normally I wouldn't go in for non-mainstream medicine either, but it's not like we're talking homeopathy or reiki here ;) Plus, in moments of desperation, I've considered everything from voodoo to witchcraft too :D

Well, when I say anything I mean anything within reason. No way would I ever be that desperate! lol

Thank you all for saying you think it looks a bit smaller. I'm sure it doesn't and I know it's still massive but it makes me feel better that you said it at least.

Ha, you'd find me in the woods dancing naked in a circle of yew trees before you found me in the homeopathists! Heaven help us, you might even find me in a church first :D

I genuinely think it looks smaller, but it is possible that is a result of a camera angle / trick of the light...

There are clinical trials showing that manuka honey helps with both infection and the healing of wounds - is routinely used in NHS hospitals by Tissue Viability nurses for patients with badly infected superating (I just had to get that word in:D) wounds. You could also give her a spoonful a couple of times a day as it will help boost her immune system:)

I just peed my pants a bit at that, I have the same opinion to be quite honest.
However you'd never find me at church, I'm banned from there :D

My mother choked on her tea when I told her I was feeding one of mine a 'herbal supplement' then proceeded to say 'I thought you hated all that hocus-pocus?'

Poor nitty, I have been following her progress intently, bless her somewhat swollen socks, I bet she is sick of being poked.

Poor Nitty. Although I do agree it looks to have improved, going by the pics.

Continuing to wish her a speedy recovery. xx
