31 this year, stood on a stone a week ago and got a big bruise.

Pretty much 1st time in her life she's been lame. Wore a boot and kept it clean for 5 days.

Was cantering around the field this morning, lame tonight. Investigation revealed black pus.

Poor old girl, now has her 1st ever abcess. 😢

Thank goodness it's burst now. She will feel so much better

Oh she's be chuffed with one of those. Special treat.

Mine only get (and love!!!!!) stud muffins when Secret Santas and other friends send them!! I hope she feels better soon. Love sent from my 30 year old pony who is strutting his stuff at the moment and thinking he still has it now that Spring is on the way. xx

Archie had his first ever abcess earlier this winter at the age of 29ish. The last couple of weeks he's been a bit stiff going out in the morning but has been cavorting about the field like a 3yr old within 10 minutes of going out so I think once he's loosened off he's feeling pretty happy with himself - although I'm sure the cavorting isn't helping the stiffness the next day!

Having spent far too much time in my life thinking "let it be an abscess and burst soon" for an unexplained lameness, I couldn't help but like your post! Hope it's a quick recovery.

They're the best for healing abscesses according to grey pony. He's been enjoying far too many of them over the last fortnight.
We were fortunate last Christmas when Santa brought the Christmas Pudding Stud Muffins. We gifted him sherry and carrots!

Archie's decided to join in. Abcess (I hope) number 2 in his life has materialised. He's been a bit off for a few days, thought it was just his arthritis so been giving him a danilon which has dealt with it. Last night he was hopping lame on it. He looked like the lame donkeys in those horrible (but effective) charity adverts on Channel 4 in the daytime. Hoof is not just warm but actually hot and he's got a raging digital pulse. Poulticed it last night and although there was nothing obvious on there when I took it off this morning, he's a lot sounder this morning. It's still very hot though. He was far worse on the hard surface of the yard than in the field so it could be that the poultice is giving him a bit of cushioning and easing the pain but I'm hoping for pus tonight.

Oh no, poor Archie.

Jemima sends her best wishes, but she's probably forgotten already, lol.
