The thing is these people should know better they think they know everything sado's, its not as if the pony hasnt been i'll before.

If it has suffered from lami before, and this is how they deal with it, then it will be dead within a few months

I've seen it happen; my second pony was on loan to us for two years, and she did not suffer from lami once in all that time, for we knew she was prone to it and took appropriate precautions. When she went back to her owners once I had outgrown her, she had laminitis again within a fortnight, and was dead within two months, aged 12

A waste of a life, and this pony you speak of sounds like it will go the same way

This is actually a welfare issue. Don't wait until it is on it's last legs. Have a word with the yard owner/owners of the pony. Tell them if they do not manage the pony aproprietly you will have no other choice than to report it. If they don't do anything - do report it! The owners are causing unnecessary suffering. I could not watch.

I don't wish to sound rude and I can understand you are probably venting off your anger about the situation on here but would it not be better to channel that energy into guiding these owners into doing the 'right' thing by their pony?
Can you not explain to these people that what they are doing could potentially be harmful to the health and welfare of their pony.
Perhaps sectioning parts off with fencing, restricting grazing or using a muzzle.
How many times has the pony had laminitis before and was it under vet care for it?

I agree this is a welfare issue, the ILPH/whatever their name is or the RSPCA should be called if its laminetic and in a huge field of grass, as that is surely neglect.
Is it currently having a laminitis attack, or does it look pre-laminetic? Or are you just worried that the situation it is in will cause it to get laminitis?

Could you perhaps print out some info on lammi and 'accidentally' leave it lying at the yard for the owner to read? if you don't think that would work, then report it.

does it matter when he had it last prevention better than cure you would say that wouldnt you vvx[bagface06]
