Poor, poor horse

ha! i sent a message to them saying - "hi i saw your ad about a 'three' year old cob, can i ask why you have backed this pony as he looks extremely immature and unfit for ridden work? barely looks 2 years old, just wondering. thanks"

and got a very rude "GET A LIFE!" reply.
how very professional of them!!

perhaps they should get a life rather than mistreating ponys day in day out :(

RE IPC media - this is the same company who, having sent me a bottle of champagne for a letter about ragwort posted an article in one of their magazines about growing ragwort in your garden.

They know less and less about horses and more and more about money.

Not at all surprised that H&H misleadingly advertise hat racks as horses. Whoever processes the adverts probably couldn't see if something was wrong if it had only 3 legs...

wow. definitely should not have contacted them.
they've just rang me about 4 times which i ignored. now they are 'reporting me' to the police for harrassment?
ok ... i sent you a message about your pony. how is that harrassment?

hah. i feel for this poor pony and any others they own :( i wish H&H did a little bit more to stop adverts like this being put up.

Well it was a rather silly, antagonistic message to send them. What on earth did you think it would achieve?

i dunno, i tend to do these things without thinking, then regret them after :( i wasn't actually going to send the message at first, just one of those "heat of the moment" things i suppose :/

Very sad. I can remember when H&H only advertised really good horses and ponies that I aspired to own!! As a child that was one of the highlights of the week looking through the magazine and choosing which one I wanted that week! Not this one I'm afraid....that needs a welfare organisation asap and something to prevent this from happening again

Lol! I did that too. I would choose one from each page that I would have. Back in 1997, we bought a pony from HH and I kept the mag she was advertised in because at the time I was so proud!

I have no idea where that magazine is now!!!

Its interesting that in the ad they say they are going to take him to a show as all the shows I know say that a ridden horse or pony has to be at least 4 years old to compete.

Unless he is doing an in-hand class?

Totally agree that H&H should not accept adverts like this, but as has already being pointed out it all comes down to money.

The dealer I now know to be dodgy that I used still advertises in H&H, in fact thats the reason I used him thinking that he must be genuine advertising there.

I'm not so gullible anymore.................

For that reason, I do think HH have a duty of care based on their reputation to protect its readers from dogy dealers and the like.

It will only be a matter of time before reputable sales agents or genuine Joe Public pay another well respected mag for its classified ads.

Reputation and word of mouth are a strong sales force and if HH do not protect its readers then their reputation is set for ruin.
