Scum.
What goes on in their heads to want to do that?
I'd tie their ankles together and push them in, with a lead weight attached. After pulling their hair out of course.
 
Agree that's wicked. Only thing though, DM blaming "thugs", if they were connected with the dark Range Rover my money would be on a different group of people,
 
Disgusting and shocking. However, I do wonder if the pony was conscious when it went in - we used to own a narrowboat, and canals like this are pretty shallow at the edge (and in the middle, due to silting). Even a fairly small pony would be able to stand up next to the bank with its head out of the water. Quite possibly it was rendered unconscious and then dragged in. I really can't understand the mind set of some people.
 
Sick and disgusting. I used to ride in that area a few years ago. i hope they find whoever did this. How could any sane human do this to an animal.
 
I saw this on the H&H news page last night and am still in tears. I hope the people who did this drown...if it was someone in the Range Rover, I'd be happy to help push the vehicle with them in it into the deepest quarry lake I could find. Evil scum. RIP sweet pony; I wish you had been mine.

Who, is going to do something. It all seems to be a situation of passing the buck. The Equine Charities are working together to try and raise awareness with the public and get solutions, the MPs have debated and back it goes to DEFRA, and to date nothing has changed.
 
Personally I am not 100% convinced that this happened when the horse was still alive. I certainly dont think it was concious. The drag marks and hair pulled out makes me think someone was dragging the body to be disposed of rather than a sick and cruel act. Does seem like a lot of effort to go to when dumping a body though, when most think that leaving them on the verge for the Council to clear up is fine....
 
know what i would do, tie a weighted belt round their middle and drag them down by their oIIo

the worry is they find this made news and will do it again:(
 
Just awful, whether it was alive or dead going in, you can bet if they treat a body like that the poor mite didn't exactly have a goof life :(
 
This happened right on my patch and I would say that the Coloured Pony was dead before being Dumped by Trav - Thieving community the edge of the canal would only be 750 - 900mm deep at this point and their are lots of permanent camps nearby for the travelling community who no longer travel.
