Poor, poor puppy

Poor pup. There was a similar incident locally recently when a dog strangled itself at a grooming parlour. To make it worse in that instance they seem to have just put it down to an accident and the staff are still working.:(

Jesus, what a horrible, totally unneccessary death. :(

Are there any kind of professional qualifications required to be a groomer? I've read enough horror stories now that I won't ever take mine. My friend's westie came back from one once with a brutal clip on his belly that left him with a weeping rash for days, all up his underside and on his testicles and inside back legs. :(

What the ***** is wrong with these places????

Strangled whilst being held down, and cooked whilst being dried???

Speechless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank goodness, I have a lovely groomer who does Henry for me, he always comes out happy, and is always happy to arrive there:)

It was such a worry, finding a good place!

Those poor poor little dogs :( really devastating for their owners...common sense surely would have had that drier turned off sooner? Surely they should never be left unattended?

I have my own clippers as I am very worried about leaving my dogs in someone else's care and yep they wriggle which means it's time to take a break and let them chill. How can people who claim to be dog lovers not see that???

Oh that poor wee dog :( The family must be devestated. No amount of money can compensate for what their dog has gone through - the company should be forced to make a sizeable donation to a dog charity - and I mean sizeable, as in really big - hit them where it hurts because a business understands nothing else :(

Thats horrific, poor little soul. We should all email them and say we're boycotting them. I'll not use mine again after that.

Dear lord that is shocking....leaving a dog unsupervised in a drying cabinet is disgusting, they are strikly meant to be supervised and only in them thing a limited amount of time! a small puppy of that hair type would have been dry in no time, they clearly left the poor little sod in far to long whilst stuffing their faces with their dinner:mad:..........I would be baying for blood if that was my dog.
I have heard of another dog dying in one of those cabinets, they have been debated time over, my heart goes out to the owners and the poor little puppy, I never leave any dog im grooming unsupervised the whole time they are with me.

TBH lets face it those drying things are of no real use to the dog, I would even go far enough to say they shouldnt be used, as they are only designed for speed and efficiency for the groomer I presume?!

I say you should force people to dry the dog properly by hand or with a dryer but by hand (god does that make sense) so they are unable to be left.

If that happened to my dog I would be screaming too Cayla. Horrendous way to go.

TBH Spudlet, I gave up on Pets At Home a very long time ago! I even went as far to write a complaint letter to my local one, it was never even acknowledged, never mind replied to!

Poor puppy. Poor boy :(

Stella is small enough to bathe in the sink, while the groomer I use for Prince has twenty years of experience and doesn't use heat dryers. Like Cayla says, I'm sure they were more concerned with their lunch and nipping outside to have a ciggie.

My MIL has been a groomer for 30 odd years and wouldn't use one of those cabinets if her livelihood depended on it! Absolutely disgusting. Horrific experience for the family.

Thats terrible  :( I did work experience at the grooming parlor mine go to, if the client wants to stay and watch they are always welcome to do so and they are asked to tell the groomer if the dog has issues. We had 1 staffy who was terrified of the hand held dryer (it looks and sounds a lot like the hoover pipe thingy) and because the owner had informed us we towlled dry saved a lot of hasal :)

Jeezo, that's horrendous :( Ironically, I was at the groomers today - Madam needed a clip but she's done right in front of me, I'm not even left alone with her! I do get in the way though - I keep trying to see what the groomers are doing :o
