I've got a nasty virus and coughing my guts out in bed, please help me pass the time, or humour me at least! :D:cool:

I have been watching others at shows and everyone is applying makeup. Especially now we have qualified and going onto a higher level we need to keep up. Please can you tell me what you would recommend for my boy? At the mo we are looking at (all from Supreme products):

-Black spray to darken his black legs
-Black hoof paint
-Black make up to darken his nose slightly
-Oil to highlight
-White spray to cover the yellowish tint in his tail
-Deluxe coat gloss.

Shock horror this comes to £73!! So I don't want to buy what I don't need, if you think something is crap then please let me know! Also any hints/tips as to how to apply for the best.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Blooming heck dont spend money if you dont need to!!!! I would agree something for his tail but find that fairy liquid gets it white :-) hope you feel better!

Absorbine supershine black hoof polish
Designer Browband black leg make up if you are covering up scars, otherwise just bath him very well. We would not use this unless we were covering something up.
Baby oil gel if the weather is not too hot is fine on the muzzle - otherwise use one of the sun screen highlighters
Absorbine show sheen spray (not on the saddle area if you are riding)

White spray will not work on his tail - and whatever you do, don't bleach it as that will definitely turn it yellow. Try the Absorbine Superpoo - that may do it - or one of the blue shampoos.

That will cost under £40 I would have thought and last for ages!

i wouldnt get leg blackener i would just wash very well then apply mane and tail/show shine ect to them to make them a bit glossy - fairy should get his tail nice and white and effol do a really good black hoof oil for about £10? maybe alot less havent bought it in ages! good luck - beautiful horse!

Thank you! In the end I went for some sparkle stuff for his tail, plaits and body-It's come really recommended so looking forward to seeing how it works! Also got some highlighter gel for his muzzle. Will get some black hoof paint offline, much cheaper than the one in the shop! :)
