My poor boy. Went to let him out Friday morning and he had a massively swollen shoulder and couldn't put his foot to the floor. (and yes, a patterdale so something seriously wrong here, showing pain!!)
Anyway, trip to the vets. Turns out he has a hole in his shoulder which has gone through the muscle and hit the shoulder bone so no wonder so sore. He had a ga/X-ray and all flushed and cleaned out and stitched up. Feeling very sorry for himself. But question is what happened??!! I've had a walk found the farm there's no machinery that could cause it, I don't think it was a bite. Ideas?!

Could he have run into a sharp branch?

I had a horse do that, we originally thought he'd been shot with a BB gun until we removed twig/wood from the index finger deep wound...he was sore for a few days and needed a 5 day course of ABs. Of course he did this the day after I sent off his entry for the biggest show of the year :D
