Set off to a show today with Taf and his neighbour, I put them both in my trailer with the stallion guard up as they are both a little boystrous!
Anyway 15mins into the journey I could see that there was allsorts going on in the back of the trailer and Taf was bucking and throwing himself about at poor Harry. I stopped and took a quick look in the back to ensure he hadnt got his foot caught in the haynet or anything. He had trashed his boots and threw his shoe!
No showing for Taf today, anyway by the time we got to the show another 20 mins later Taf had obviously jumped on his leg just above the coronet band he took all the skin off and made a slight piercing just on his coronet band.
Decided best thing was to leave Harry at the show as these 2 obviously cannot travel together and take Taf home, he continued to fall out with himself all the way home which is very out of character, once we landed i took the opportunity to take a proper look but Taf was a very unhappy bunny and held his leg upto his belly being unwilling to put weight on it, had a further feel and there is some swelling around his fetlock but no obviosu injury and no heat -
Couple of questions then
Would you turn out to keep him mobile?
Do we think the coronet area is more sensitive than other areas which is why what seems like a superficial injury more painful for him?
Is he being a big wuss?
My money is on him being a wuss, but then i cant feel what is going on!
Any similar experiences or opinions gratefully received, he is not normally unwell and doesnt appear lame when walking apart from him over exagerating the lift and almost touching his tummy when he moves!
Also in new lounge
