Poorly puppy :(

This morning B was her usual bouncy self, didn't eat all her dinner from lat night but thats pretty normal for her.

About an hour ago I heard her retching and found two lovely piles of sick. She has since produced 4 more piles (more a yellow water now than anything solid) and has just gone completely offcharacter.

At first she was following me around watching me clean up the piles but now she is looking very sorry or herself.

Dragged her outside and she pooped on the step (she is a verrrrry fussy pooper and has her 'spots' where she goes - NOT the step) then just stood looking at me when her head lowered :(

Her tummy does feel bloated, I have taken her food away.

Anything else I havent thought of? She has had nothin to eat today, her poops have been normal.

Does this just sound like a dicky tummy to you? Would i be wasting the vets time if I took her in?
 
6 times in an hour is enough vomitting to warrant a vet visit. I would pop her in to be on the safe side if I were you.

I've registered just to say - yes take her down the vets.

It could be bloat ... or something she's eaten thats stuck.

Thanks guys, She has perked up after seeing some birds in the garden, had a drink and is now huffing at me coz she cant get comfy on my knee

I'm trying to get through to the vet (Why is it always busy when I need to call?)
 
Update for you all.
Managed to get ann appointment with the vets at 3. Betsy was acting like she was on deaths door all the way there (other side of town), she had me in blo*dy tears in the car.
Get in the waitng room and the deathlike attitude continues ... untill a lovely old lady came in with her equally old dog.
B started bouncin off the walls an got alot of fuss from the old lady.

Go in to see the vet and the 'Mam im honestly going to die' look turned into 'Arghhhh im at a partaaaay'....

Vet was glad I had taken her in, he said her stomach felt fine and temp was normal and she looked very healthy. He injected her with something I have forgotten the name of to help settle her tummy and she is to be starved and given a quiet night.

Thanks guys, my instinct was to take her straight to the vets I just needed a little reassurance!

Oh and she threw up on the cream seats in my car. nice.

Bear had a poorly tum back in the summer - I put it down to the extremely warm weather we were having at the time. Vet lady suggested we try him with cottage cheese and rice once he started to feel better. And natural yogurt to help reinstate the gut flora (got it all floating around in my memory in German, so I have to translate to myself before I type!!!lol:D). So even now, he gets the cottage cheese mix a couple of times a week, and a spoon or two of yogurt when OH remembers to leave some! I make my own yogurt, so it's virtually on tap, so to speak.

Bear and I send 'Get well Soon' wishes. I smiled when I read where you have to starve her overnight - Good luck! ;) It ain't gonna be easy........:p;) Look forward to updates! :D

Thank you :) I was in such a bloomin state, crying my eyes out on the way to the vets coz she was rollin round groaning and huffing at me (Imagine a little kid acting out a 'dying' scene - huge dramatics and lots of noise - that was Betsy earlier). then get to the vets with red puffy eyes and she starts to act like a hooligan.

She is majorly peed off with the lack of dinner and is sat in the kitchen looking at the doggy draw for her tea but we have had no sick for 4 hours and she is feeling well enough to try and steal my doritos:rolleyes:

Ooh we should have some yogurt in the house actually, she can have some with whatever boring meal I give her tomorrow :)

Fingers crossed there are no more piles of puke appear tonight! :)
 
Norty B, scaring you like that!

Scrambled eggs are also good for poorly tums, that and steamed chicken and rice/pasta is what I was allowed to feed Henry when he had his operation as they are low residue.
 
my mums puppy once ate the sludge that had once been a cup of coffee (about 3 motnhs prior) from my brothers room... she puked for an hour, rolled around in death throes and just as we were thinking 'hmmm, vets is prbably a good idea' jusmped up and scoffed a plate of spag bol that someone had thought was safe left on the chair (as the garbage disposal unit was obviously far too ill to dart across the room, up onto a chair and eat a mammoth portion of dinner).. bloody dogs lol!
