Poorly puppy

My 6 month old puppy isn’t feeling too well ☹️. He was out in the garden with my partner earlier and rooting about in the bushes. We have a Russet apple tree and think he may have tried to eat one that’s rolled under the hedge and has gone manky. He vomited up what looked like chewed apple and then an hour later he threw up just liquid. He had a normal poo a couple of hours ago but has just had two large farts and diarrhoea. He’s still very perky in himself. I’ve not given him any dinner yet. I’ll monitor how he goes and hopefully won’t be a vet job.
My partner thinks I’m over worrying and it’s part and parcel of having a dog- sometimes they eat stuff they shouldn’t and it’ll pass.
There’s no pesticides/slug pellets in the garden so I doubt he’s been poisoned.
Is there anything else I should do?

Your partner could be right, it might be a case of the puppy eating something unsuitable, but not in a needs a veterinary level of dangerous. But your partner might also be wrong.

Judging by what you've written, and that the puppy is perky, in your shoes, I would probably think the same as your partner. However, if you're worried, perhaps there is an emergency veterinarian you could phone, and talk to for advice?

If the puppy haven't gotten worse since you posted, perhaps try giving a really tiny portion of food, and see if he can keep that down. Even if he seems okay, in your shoes, I would be very restrictive with the portions tomorrow, so his intestines gets a chance to calm down a bit.

Sounds like it will be one of those events you'll refer to in a few years time as "Do you remember when XX ate those manky Russet apples..."

Around 15 years later we still remember the time when Jonna ate a few rotten eggs my dad had put in the boot of his car, in our Summer home's garden. He was going to get rid of them, after he had only done something else first, which of course took longer than he thought.
We didn't know which one of my bitches that was responsible, or if they've done it together, until Jonna started to fart...

We too have had the case of the rotten eggs. OMG you could cut the air with a knife!

Glad the pup is feeling better, they do like to make culinary experiments and sometimes those experiments go wrong. :)

I guess we both missed out on our "opportunity" to create a weapon of mass destruction. I'm sure someone could have created something lethal out of those fumes...

The only top trump was when Brandy ate a two week old salmon head off the bonfire that had been used in the mink trap. Oh my. I’m sure it would have killed a lesser dog than a Labrador but she just belched and farted her way through it. Cleared the house though ?

In a six month old pup I would definitely have the poo checked for worms.
Even the best bred pup, wormed by the breeder, can show worms ( ascaris Or roundworm ) in their faeces at 5 to 6 months.
The parasites can cause the pup to have a sore stomach as well as diarrhea and lead it to eat inappropriate items.
id also ask for a Giardiacheck at the same time.

We're really not promoting dog owning to you, Ceifer, are we? I assure you it's not always like this, usually a puppy/dog will bring lots of joy into your life.

Other times they become temporarily deaf, and disappear into the horizon/decides to roll themselves in the deer poop they found instead of eating it etc, etc.

But overall, they're:

Oh he’s amazing. Every day he makes me laugh. I think I worried as he really looked sorry for himself. Poor little mite. But all
