In my classroom was a little 'cube' horse book full of cute pictures and dubious captions.

My favourite was the fact that the most desirable colour in an arab is apparently black with white 'hocks'... would love to see that

I've been trying to find this book again for ages as it was such a hoot, can't remember anything about the title/author's name though. It wasn't really a horsey story, but one of the main side characters had a horse.
The most memorable error/wrong bit was that the author kept referring to 'picking the toad', a 'toad flick' every time the character went to the stables.
Took me forever to realise they actually meant frog/hoof and hoof pick :o:D

In one of the Jill books if I remember rightly Rapide or Black Boy was described as "pecking because he had lost a nail"!!!! Even as a kid, I still remember thinking that was strange, oh well back in the 1950s maybe that happened?
