Poorly Romeo...

Romeo has a bad leg, he is not putting weight fully on his back left leg he is reluctant to go upstairs and is occasionally holding it up. There is no heat in it he is happy to let me touch it but has cried out when trying to itch with it or go in or out the garden. Ive called the vet and have been told to rest it just gentle walks around the house. It seem to be higher up in the leg, we are going vets at 10am. Am very worried about my boy I think I overdid his walk yesterday hopefully he has just tweaked it. Guilty mum for taking him out yesterday for 40mins if anything is wrong ill be distraught.

On the plus he is eating his orijen with diluted chicken gravy to wet it down.

Very easy to over do it with young big dogs, hopefully it is nothing serious and rest will do the trick. xxxx

There is an old fashioned rule of 5 minutes lead walking per month of age. With a large breed such as a rottie or rottie x, I'd be super cautious.

It's hard to limit a crazy pup, but no going upstairs (carry him if he's with you at night) and to tire him out, train and/or take him with you everywhere. Mental stimulation tires them out just as much as physical at this age.

Are you taking him to puppy socialisation? That'll wear him out. His bones are super fragile at this age: it's easy to over work them. If you have a crate, use it.

Poor boy, hopefully just tweaked something, Im sure he will be right as rain with some rest.

He is downstairs in kitchen during night now. (no accidents last 2 nights with 2 night time pee breaks) he comes up at 7am to sleep next to me if im not at work n want a lie in. Will start carrying him up the stairs. Will do 2 x 15 min walks a day from now on. He goes puppy classes once a week and puppy parties once every 2 weeks. Hopefully rest will fix him but will know more after vets in morning x

I came home to bits of frog all over the kitchen last week, lovely! Tasty snack before tea!

Yuck frog in Romeos world is rather tasty but frogs legs poking out his mouth was nasty. Just come home from cinema was out for 3 1/2 hours and no accidents. We are cracking the toilet training only one pee and no poos in the house in 72 hours!

Thank u im rather bias but we think he is a gorg bag too x
