New to the forum today and I have been searching on here and on BE forum to see if anyone can shed any light on this. There have been a couple of rumours circulating in Norfolk that these two events are not going to be running next spring. HOPE this is not true as we are far enough away from events as it is living on the east coast.

Well I keep my horse at Blackwater and no one said anything about it being cancelled when I was there this afternoon. Can't think of any reason why it should be but will ask when I'm next at the yard.

I heard that too... Apparently it's never running any profit but I reckon if DS wants profit he'll have to work a lot harder on the ground and jumps there- I've never seen that course change!

If it is then try PC ODEs- we run ours round the BE classes from intro to novice and have open sections for non-PC members...

Well I know last summers event only broke even and that was with owner and son doing most of the work.
I guess there's only so much one 70 yro old can do when he's also been fighting the rendering plant next door for the past three years - that would probably have been the end full stop. I'm not sure I'd have wanted to continue to keep my horse there had it gone ahead, but thankfully the fight was worth it.
Shame the last couple of years have been so wet that they can't run the summer course as that at least gives a bit of variation.

Yeah, I know he's been having a massive battle and we always rely on his generosity for camp and things, but at the same time I don't think many people realise what else he has on his plate- they just want a good event. Love the course though, and it is my fave place for schooling.

As far as no when speaking to DS recently he has been given a CIC1* !!! so hopefully it is going ahead and polar park is always our first event of season!!! planning on starting one of baby's there!
The pc event is ok but it's not the same as doing BE and the courses are always a mix of 2 courses.

I'm on the organising committee for Poplar Park HT and we have no plans to cancel the event in March 2010! We have a few fence judges and things left to organise but most suppliers/judges/officials are all booked.

So please come and support us in March! All profits go to charity.
