It's finally time to write the elusive first event of the season report!!!
WOW what can i say?! Well i truly couldn't have asked for a better start to the season, he was such a fricking dude its unreal!! I'm still smiling!!
As you know we have had next to no prep all winter and ive only been back on him for 2.5 months post surgery, our dressage has quite frankly been crap lately so i was aiming for sub 40 and stay in the white boards!
It was mediocre test, it was sweet and he did everything where it was needed, no silly spooking so i was actually very pleased with him i predicted a 36/37 which i would have been more than happy with..... Nope! it was a 32.3..... a PB for us!!! What a DUDE!!!
The sj was up to height and a nice flowing course with an upright running downhill to an oxer at 7-8, when i say we have had next to no prep im not lying! we have jumped 1 competitive sj round this year! He was jumping great, unfortunately i rode like a pleb at 7 and held him half a stride too long so we had it down - complete rider error! So just the one pesky pole to add! and onto the xc!! The course was nice a bit twisty at the start but nothing too taxing, he completely stormed round just picking up .4 of a time fault for going too fast!!! He gives such an amazing feeling across the country i was grinning from ear to ear all the way back to the lorry!
And to top off an already amazing day... we ended up just out the top 10 in 11th place!!! What a DUDE!!!
A few pics!!
Beanz's dressage face!!! haha
Jumping game face!!
Post xc banana
Storming over the second to last out the water!!
