First ever report but will have to be a brief on as everso hectic at work!!!
Went to do the OPN on Sunday on Booze, who was a total star. The dressage (her weakest phase) was as the judge put it 'explosive'. She had warmed up beautifully but being such an old hand was storing her energy for some bucks in the arena. I have to say I just laugh when this happens as there is not much else you can do. So got a reasonable 40, we aim for nothing above a 40 for the season, so happy all round.
On to the showjumping. She is always funny in warm ups, just testing me checking I am awake. But was fantastic in the arena with a super clear.
Then off to the cross country. Now I always have a problem with her as always come back thinking I have gone really fast and always never make the time!!! The times at Poplar are really difficult to get, but decided to put my foot down and jumped a lovely clear!!! I was at the end of the section so was up in the lorry park when they were reading out the results and to our utter surprise I came 9th!!!!!! So happy and such a good start to the season. Bring on Goring, our next outing and I should have my other horse up and running then too!!! So until then, must do some work, and thank you for taking the time to read!!!
