As requested.... :) Although mine are nowhere near as good as Sunflower's :)

More coming ;) :D

And today, at 13 days, and their eyes are starting to open. Sprocket is a bit further ahead that Fraggle :)

Here is the little lad:

Look at these little toes :D

It's hard to tell in most of the photos, but we think that Sprocket, who is closer to the camera here, is going to be smooth coated like Pops, but that Fraggle will have a more wavy coat, like Daddy chip :)

Sprocket left, Fraggle right :)

More to follow... you did ask! :p

And some more from this evening, at 13 days.

IMG_3367.jpg

Look at how huge they are?! I swear they are three times the size already!

She has a little grey chin, just like her Mummy :)

Hope you have enjoyed them! :D

Aww how cute are they?

Did mummy only have two?

Yes. She scanned with three at 30 days, but when the third failed to arrive after these two we had a vet check and scan her and there wasn't another one :( She must have reabsorbed it. :(

I feel terribly sad for my farrier's family who were going to have the other pup :( But at least these two are healthy and I guess that's far better than carrying to full term and then losing one...

What perfect little poplets and how fabulous does Popple look. She really has done them proud and she looks so wonderfully well herself, a real credit to you Pups.

I am so thrilled at how Popple has taken to motherhood. :)

She hasn't dropped condition at all, in fact she is absolutely glowing. She is still full of bounce and happy to play in the garden or go for a little walk to the postbox. She has just the right balance of being attentive without being neurotic and has never once complained about how clumsy they are when feeding. In fact, she was feeding the first one within minutes, before the second was even here.

She often pops upstairs for a cuddle in my bed in the morning, and then goes back to feed them - she really seems v happy and chilled about it all. I bet she's going to love it once they are running around! :D

They really HAVE grown, I love Poppy's face in that second one: 'they came out of little ME?!':D

Popple, not Poppy! :D

She is a little bemused by them, but certainly not troubled, in fact, she seems to love it. :) We are having cards and phone messages from all her friends at the park who are dying to see them.

When you look at getting a working cocker in the future I strongly recommend that you consider their Daddy's bloodline ;) His owner has been breeding/training/judging across Europe for 30 years and to see his dogs in action is amazing. My friend has a little bitch by the same daddy, almost exactly the same age as Popple, and she is such a love. :)

Oops:o

I'm swaying back towards a working lab pup now, but will probably change my mind at least four times more before I make up my mind;)

Ahhh, look at my little Fatboy :D
They are all looking so good, and Popple is a great mother!

I believe his official nickname is Dough Ball! :D :D We had such a job taking those pics earlier. We had my mother one side of the chair and her hairdresser the other as he wouldn't stay still for a second. You have so much fun and mayhem ahead of you! :D

Are you and Evil going to come and see them tomorrow evening? You can take some better pics than me!! ;)

ps - Popple has VERY much enjoyed her liver and mince supper tonight. She says thank you! :D

Well that's because you told her she'd have puppies to play with but these are very boring - they don't even run around or anything :p

Ha! The rate our two are going, they soon will be! They are getting increasingly better at pushing up onto their feet and wriggling around. I bet by the time you get back from your hols they will be right trouble makers..... I can't wait! :D

I fear he may end up with several official nicknames...

As you know, in this 'family' half a dozen random nicknames are obligatory! :p Bessie, anyone?! ;)

BTW, I gave Beans' vets some brownies yesterday.... when they phoned me this morning they told me that the interns fancied pampering her, and were giving her a bath  She has them wrapped around her little pink nose! :D

Was it an accidental pregnancy??? Only asking as I have it stuck in my head that the PoppleMa is only young herself???
Even so, isn't she a fantastic Moominmamma! Look at the shine on those boys. I bet the poor sods are cleaned to within an inch of their lives.
I have visions of PoppleMa spitting on a hankie and wiping their faces while tutting!

They are gorgeous, she is doing them so well isn't she. Puppies are the biggest time wasters in the world, be prepared to get nothing done over the next few weeks. To put my boring dog breeder hat on, its worth just trimming their nails every few days, they are surprisingly sharp and may scratch Popple as the feed . Its really a case of nipping the very end off, I use human nail clippers so there is no danger of stabbing the pups. Apologies if I am telling you something you knew.
