My friends rising two year old welsh pony makes a "popping" noise from its hind fetlocks when it moves. Its the only way i can describe it really. When you look at them you can see them kind of clicking into place ( only in walk, disappears in trot ). Has anyone else heard of this??? Her trainer ( for her other horse ) says its common in youngsters but ive never heard of it before. There is no swelling/heat or pain and its not lame but you can see where the noise is coming from.

Any ideas or experiences??

Hi, my mare used to do this with one back leg. I asked my farrier about it when he trimed her, he didn't have a problem with it. She's 6 next thursday and I haven't noticed it recently so she probably grew out of it. Sorry not much help but I can't remember what he said it was.
