Popular dog breeds..

Every other dog I see in my little village is a Staff, usually walked by a chav.

Akitas are also becoming very common with the chavs :(

Labs, spangles and JRTs are verrrry common.

Before I moved I lived on a street that housed 8 Border Terriers (Including mine) but I havent seen one since I moved.

I think you notice the type of dogs you like more than anyother. Since we've been toying with the idea of getting a whippet we've seen loads of them out and about.

We do go to a super pub though where there are normally more dogs than people, mainly whippets, greyhounds and lurchers. Oh and once a very nervous pet guinea pig...... apparently we've never been when it is busy, they've had a pony and a falcon in the bar as well as the dogs cats and guinea pigs there on a usual sunday!

I live on a new-ish housing estate with loads of footpaths and green spaces and I mostly see Staffs and Spaniels (mainly cockers). There are also quite a few 'designer mixes' - Cocker Poos and Bishon Poos mainly. The labs I see are mostly chocolate ones.

The funniest is a bloke who walks with what looks like 5 indescriminate terrier-type dogs all off the lead, but when you look closer the smallest one is actually a cat!! Apparently it just follows when he takes the dogs out..... Stevie is most perplexed by this, he can't work out what a cat would be doing walking with 4 dogs!!

That wouldn't happen to be the 3 stags heads at Wardlow would it? The kind of pub there should be more of  :D

I seem to be seeing nothing but collies and cocker spaniels at the moment.....

Bit off topic but the breed i see least is an Irish Terrier!!! I only ever see one once in a blue moon ... i have a irish terrier cross but looks like one but it doesnt count :p

Nothing wrong with walking your cat!!!

I work in a dog groomers and the most popular breed that comes in are Cocker Spaniels and also out on walks- they are everywhere!!!:)
Westies and Shih Tzus seem very popular too.

At the dog training class I go to, where there is a fluctuating population, so to speak, the most common dogs seem to be spaniels, both springer and cocker, border terriers, GSDs and Jack Russells. Ours are unusual!!! Two mongrels, one a GSD x whippet and the other foxhound x pointer. We stand out like sore thumbs among the pedigrees, but we adore them...
